Orchard Escapes

Seasons

Below you will find all the information you need about the different seasons here at Pitch Farm.

Spring

Spring is a busy but beautiful time in the orchard. Cherry buds emerge, soon followed by glorious blossoms that light up the branches. You can see busy bees buzzing around, doing their work and pollinating thousands of flowers. After a long winter slumber, the orchard truly comes to life, and it’s such a joy to watch nature unfold.

Summer

Summer in the orchard is a busy time for nature. Cherries are ripening, like little red jewels adorning the trees. You can hear baby birds chirping away, eagerly following their parents around as they search for food. It's adorable to watch. And when night falls, the hedgehogs come out to play, quietly creeping around in search of snacks, overhead stealthy owls are off in the shadows, silently hunting for their dinner. Summer can be a lively scene, full of activity and the beauty.

Autumn

Autumn in the orchard is such a vibrant time! You can see the birds flitting around, happily munching on ripe berries, while the squirrels are busy stashing away acorns for the winter. It’s like a natural pantry getting ready for the colder months ahead. Meanwhile, the trees are all dressed in stunning golden hues, and let’s not forget the apples—they're plopping down from the branches, just begging to be picked. It’s a wonderful season that invites you to take a leisurely stroll and soak it all in!

Winter

Winter in the orchard is a time for the trees to take a well-deserved rest, while the hibernating creatures snooze underground. The morning frosts sparkle, and those snowy days are just the perfect excuse to cosy up next to the log fire.
